I am moving from Chicago to Atlanta in a couple weeks. Since I am single and have 2 cars I'm having them put one of my cars on the truck with my household goods.
Should I move the 911 or the sedan? If I decide to ship the 911 is there anything I should be worried about or any special instructions I should give them? They are already planning to load my car at the warehouse where they can load it from dock height due to the clearance of the car.

Thanks in advance.
I would put my daily dirver in the furntiure van and contract with a reputable car hauler for the 993.
I wouldn't trust some furniture movers with my Porsche. I had North American Van lines put my BMW motercycle in the van with my furniture years ago. They wrapped it in moving blankets and secured grounded it. when the van's doors at its destination, I was shocked to see a table top lying on the side of my Bike's gas tank. They ended up buying me a new tank.
I used Passport transportation (owned now by Fed-Ex) to deliver my C4s last summer, but there are several very reputable carriers such as InterCity & Horseless Carriage.
Is there someone in the Chicago area who could keep the 911 for you for a week until you could come back and pick it up? If it were me, I would try that, catch a cheap 1-way ticket back from Atlanta to Chicago, then drive the 911. Besides, on your trip down in the sedan, you'll have scouted out all the good roads!
One thing I should point out having relocated 6 times with my company at this point... Movers can certainly man handle your cherished possessions. In this case the Mayflower agent I'm using is owned by a personal friend and the driver moving me has moved me in the past. They are going from my home in chicago directly to my home in Atlanta with no stops along the way. There will be nothing on the truck but my things. I am fairly confident they are as good as movers come.
I used Intercity when I purchased the car. I had it shipped from WA to IL. They were fantastic!
That is actually one of my main concerns. The weather this time of year can be so unpredictable. I could wake up the morning i plan to drive and have a snow storm. My parents live about 2 hours south of Chicago. I could store my 911 with them until summer roles around.
Yikes! I should have remembered the April day, when I was there and I peeled a banana outside and the effin' thing began to smoke (steam) because it was so cold outside.
I moved one of my Mercedes E320 sedan with my furnitures in a enclosed van line when I moved from CA to Atlanta. Car arrived perfectly. Since then I have been using specialized enclosed trailer just for cars.
One advantage of moving car with the furniture is that it gets there super fast, much faster than enclosed car trailer service, as they have multiple stops. If you have plenty of furniture and fills up the moving truck, then it is a one stop deal for you.
Use Intercity and be done with it. We are never disappointed with them and their teams.
I once shipped a car (Volvo) from the west to east coasts with my household goods (1.5 trucks including car). It rode across most of this country with a piece leaning on the right rear fender, and that piece had removed the paint and shined the fender edge to a very bright finish.
+1 for hiring a car specific transporter. I used a covered transport from TX to WA, everything arrived perfect order including the original seats and all of the original factory parts. My avatar is of the car as it was being unloaded last December.
Other cars on the truck included 2 - 50's T-Birds, an M5 and a 430 right in front of mine. Driver said they do a majority of the work for the MLB players.
