I first replied without reading the link. After all the replies, I read it. The author is an idiot. His premise is based upon this statement; "The Boxster/Cayenne sales are weak, the Cayenne isn't exactly flying off the shelves."
In fact, the The Boxter/Cayman and Cayenne are directly responsible for Porsche setting consecutive yearly sales records for the last 3 years. The company is flush with cash, enabling it purchase the majority of VW Ag. The guy needed to do a little research before getting on his high horse.
I bught my Porsche because I had wanted a 911 since I was 10 years old. Not because it would impress the guy or gal in the Escalade next to me at the light. I've had BMWs. They are fine cars. But as most here know, there really is no substitute for a 911.
