Default Plugs wires ect. how much should I pay?

Not ready to try the plugs myself yet... But after hearing the labor time to get it done I may change my mind. Just want to see what everyone else is paying to have this done? Also what are the recommended plugs and wires for the job?

I had mine done with my 60k tune---Beru wires and Bosch plugs where about $450 (autohausaz.com)

I dont recall labor cost right off hand but its something I would never, or care, to attempt.

Just had a 30k service done at the stealer (for the seventh time!) It was ~$800 less oil change. My plug wires are hard but not arcing yet so the are still original. I believe a set of plug wires were ~$600, and the labor was 8-10 hours! I may have a top end done next winter if needed and the wires will be changed then.

Yes Yes I've been searching now.. just a little lazy, Cars at the shop so I wanted to get back with him quickly. He's quoting about thirteen hours of labour to do the plugs, wires, and an oil change. That's at 100 bucks an hour labor rate!! should I tell him to forget about it ?!? bite the bullet and do it myself ?? He's also suggesting magnacore wires and bosche plus 4 plugs. Any thoughts. Run forrest run??

If you're mechanically inclined and have the space and tools why not do it yourself? I won't pay $100/hr for someone to do it in the same time it would take me. I think for $100/hr they are expected to have enough experience that they could do it much quicker. Of course they might charge for 8 and take 4.

The cheapest original Beru wire set cost $350-360 without shipping in the EU, heard $390 in the US.
There is a cheaper solution, buying the 964 Beru wires @ $110 from canada.
left is distributor heads, $45 each and rotors, less than $20 each.
The time for doing the DIY plugs and wires, now that I did mine, is around 2-3 hours if we coach you here. Oil is easiest DIY so I won't elaborate...

I just had my plugs and wires done. I'll check the invoice and let you know. The rubber coating on the wires was degrading, so it made sense to do it as I was getting the plugs done too. Will let you know tonight. I think it was 1000 for the plugs (including fitting) plus about 400 for the wires.

Just wondering if Bosch # 09264 is right for the wires. Anybody using them? How do they compare with the Beru's? Perfect timing for this thread!
Thanks, Tim.

Ignition wire set was 525usd for parts. Labor was 190 usd, but part of a larger 30k service so not a good basis for labor estimate.

Plugs were 73usd for parts (I think they installed bosch plugs) . Labor was 190 usd, but part of a larger 30k service so not a good basis for labor estimate.

Good luck

Interesting information on the 964 wire set.

What is the difference (if any) between the 964 and 993 wire set?
See this thread for a discussion of the $110 Beru 964 set from Canada. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-forum/408334-plug-wires.html

Difference between both wire sets are the clips.
There is one shroud that passes over the fan on the 964 as in pictures,
those pass behind the fan on the 993, for the right upper bank.
Just some clip adjustments story. remove the 993 plastic clips holding the
wires on the car and put them on the new set.
I do not think there is a lenght difference, but if ever there is...NO PROBLEM
Go directly to the expensive dealer and buy the missing cable, 2 cables, 3cables. $45 for one, so you have a huge
margin to be short @ $400-500, don't you think so?
