Cool Check out my new RAID 340mm steering wheel!

I just installed my RAID 340mm. I've heard some people say that it's too small, but it's not small at all...it's PERFECT! I can't believe I was driving this car for so long with the stock truck-like steering wheel.

This transforms the car. Big fatty grips that just fits in your hands just right. The hub places the wheel about an inch closer to you than stock which is also great. This is a recommended mod!

Here are a couple of pictures. I took one of the pictures from the driver's perspective so you can see what you can and can't see on the dash.

I just finished the install about 5 minutes ago. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish, and 10 of those was just waiting after I disconnected the battery as an extra precaution.

I peeled off the "Raid" plastic sticker that was at the bottom. I'll remove the gunky residue with goo-gone next. I moved my silver crest from my other wheel to this one.

Thanks to Larry (LandJet), I was able to get this wheel from the group buy last year still in the box at a great price. Thanks Larry!

If you don't see me posting for a few days...I'm probably driving my car, or just sitting in the garage holding this beauty!!.

Wow, I want one. More room for legs under wheel and I can put the seat back another inch!

Looks great! Larry was kind enough to offer it to me before posting. I held back and very proud of myself for controlling my urge during this slippery slope I have been on. If I was to buy it I was going to have the perforated leather covered in alcantara to match the rest of my parts recently covered. That would have turned good deal into a not so good deal. It looks right at home with your interior combo.

Thank guys.

Yes, the wheel gives you more leg room and the fact that it's closer to you allows you to pull the seat back and have a good reach still.

Al, I like the alcantara idea. I'm glad you didn't went for it or I would have missed out on this.

Rich, anytime!

Wow! I love it. What are the two silver buttons on either side of the airbag for?

Horn buttons. I like them there instead of having to hit the airbag to honk the horn.

Good point! He is a pilot so I guess that he is used to more buttons than the rest of us. I guess I will let him off the hook.

Nice looking wheel.

Was it a difficult job?

Where did you get the parts?

Steering wheel looks great! I've been going back and forth between the 365 and the 340mm. Thanks to your pics, its the 340 now.
