Default Silver with polished wheels

Does anyone have a silver 993 with polished wheels. There is a guy near me that does an awesome job and while I thoiught the Fuchs looked good polished on my Pacific Blau SC I am not sure about silver and polished wheels.

I had the same combination of fully polished 7 and 9's on my 82SC, they were nice against the blue but it was pretty "blingy". I let them dull down (oxidize) a bit but they started to look unkept. The Mother's Powerball on an extension brought these back to a mirror shine. Time spent maintaining better spent out driving. It just depends on how much attention you want to attract.

I have a set of Chrome Turbo Twist from my C4S for sale, not polished but chrome.
$1300 for the wheels, very clean -with Kuhmo fronts an BFG rears in good condition, with colored crest.

I think the red and chrome looks great.
SM racing: What size are the wheels? 18?

I had Fuchs wheels polished on my old 911 Carrera and it seemed to work well.

Then I had the C2 Cup OEM wheels polished on my 993 and the result was not as nice as the Fuchs.
I am told by the polishing tech experts that the older forged wheels are far more dense and achieve a much higher luster than the new cast wheels....oh well.

I finally upgraded to the MY 2002 lightweights and I am very pleased with the results.

Hi
The wheels are the standard size for C4S, I believe 8x18 and 10x18.
I just bought a set of hollow t-twist.
The Chrome t-Twist are in very good shape, one front however has a light scrape pass -as shown in pics.
Otherwise all 3 others are free of marks.

Dark wheels look better with silver IMHO.

leosayer: WHat is that color. WHere did you get the paint? I think the dark color gives it a more aggressive look.

I kinda agree. However, your wheels are just a tad bit too dark for my taste. I think if ninjabones's BBS wheels were diamond black, that would be the perfect color for a silver car. There's also someone on RL, I believe in Hong Kong, who has a set of slightly darker MY'02 wheels that look beautiful.

Darker finishes on wheels hide brake dust better than lighter finishes. Does it hold true that the chroming process changes the molecular structure of the forged contemporary Porsche wheel like they do to a classic Fuch wheel? I know those who have chrome plated Fuch wheels experience cracking especially under the rigors of driving at the track.

Yes. A number of people here have experienced issues with weakening of the metal from chroming.
