Default Porsche 993 Tach and Rev Counter

My '95 993 currently has a regular VDO tachometer and I am thinking about upgrading to a VDO tach with the rev counter present. Will it work and/or what would be needed to make it work. Thanks.

I was actually looking at purchasing a new one with an aluminum face. Thanks.

Looking at the picture on the link that you provided... are the connectors the same size/pin, etc? If so, you might get the wiring schematics and compare pin out. It would take some work to check this out.

I guess you want a yes/no answer.

Good Luck!!!

Do a search for Keith Burrell. He did a great write up on this. There are a number of steps, but it is possible (see my sig).

Default Tachometer

Thanks guys. If it is not plug and play, I will most likely avoid it. The seller says it will work if the car is wired for it. No Sh*%. If it was wired for it, most likely it would have one in it.

Avoid LA Porsche Dismantlers like the plague. They'll tell you anything to make a sell.
