I received the following information today:
Hi Porsche Enthusiasts,
We are about to run these babies and wanted confirmation, since we've had one or two people drop out. If you are receiving this e-mail, you are still on the list and can expect your $270.00, black anodized beauty sometime after next week. For the 993s there will be either a hardware kit, or a machining change to the part, to guarantee that your installation is pain-free. If the price and time-frame are ok, just confirm whether your car is a 993 or a 964.

Thanks,
Sol
&
the price will go to $260, if you get 5-6 more guys
So, for all you 964/993 people who are debating, this would be a great time (and possibly the last time) to buy this bar at this price!

I have no affiliation with PerfectPower - I'd just like the equivalent of free shipping (Sol quoted $10 freight to me)!!

I think if I put my email or website here it will just get erased and I will go straight to hell! Maybe someone else can post it as a 'service' to the Rennlisters who asked me to make these. The new ones will be thinner at the base for the 993 short studs. To compensate for the theoretical loss of strength, the material is being upgraded from 6061 to 7075 aluminum. This will ensure strength in the critical mounting area after the material thickness is reduced. A stress analysis was done by an engineer formerly with McDonnell Douglas for twenty years, and he recommended the material change.
So please call/contact me at________________________________.
Somebody please fill in the blank!
Webmaster please contact me too.
Or PM s will work for both.
Sol

1 day left to go for our group buy. I think (just my opinion) that Sol has been very generous given that we only have 3-4 people signed up. I've had minimal response from the 964 crowd

Just confirming Sol's post with his email to me:

"Hi 993 guys,
I just wanted to let you kow, in case you missed the post on Rennlist, (or it got erased) that I have a solution to the short stud issue at the shocktower. I am thinning the material at the mounts to .125" and making the end pieces from 7075 aluminum instead of 6061. According to a close friend/aerospace engineer, this will compensate for the thinner material at the base of the mounting holes, along with a nice big radius. There will be just adequate threads to ensure the allen nuts come up to torque. The change of materials is only a few day setback. I'll keep you posted."

I think we should each contact Sol re. payment & shipping arrangements.

Pardon my ignorance, but will these also fit a C4/C4S or is there not enough space in the front?

These braces mount between your shock towers and run along the front of the gas tank. There should be no difference between the cars.
