Default 993 Single Pulley Conversion

Hi every one I have a 1994 993 C4.

Had loads of problems with fan belts snapping so have gone for a Pelican Parts single pulley conversion.

Please has anyone ever done this and are there any instructions people know off.

Pelican suggested I post a message here

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy -- could you post a link or images to what you are referring to? I see you are not yet a member and may need to be one before posting hyperlinks. Perhaps an image hosted from any one of the online hosting centers?

Search for RS Pulley installation. Tons of pictures and info available. I did this a month or so ago, pretty straight forward.

OH, that pulley. I was thinking, for some reason, of the surpentine pulley system.

I wrote a DIY on the RS pulley install. Its in the DIY section.

Other than the hub, is anything else required to make the conversion? Different belt, pulley, etc.? If so, anyone have the part #'s? Also, I see that Pelican has an aftermarket hub for much less than the OEM- is there any difference?

TIA

Just reuse the orginal fan belt (if in good shape). The hub is really all you need.

No need to reshim the fan belt if its happy the way it was before disassembly.

Much simpler, but produces a lot less electricity at idle so battery is draining while idling in traffic.
