Here's Precision Porsche Conversion of Harbor City, CA:

I am tempted to "Write a Review" about them on the Google search results page....but then again, nahh, I haven't seen the car yet in person, and if I do the wheels might actually be centered and the hood seam might actually be tight: maybe it's all just an Internet optical illusion....

If this "car" is so great why has'nt it been snapped up long ago?

A correct SC or older boxster are all good suggestions. Even a good 944 or 951 could be had for the kind of money this freakshow is offered for.

Best of luck

NOT to be confused with Greg Brown's place in So Cal.........Precision Motorworks?

I did my share of hack slope conversions in the '80's/early '90's. I just never got the point of going into the 993 "update" route for the torsion bar chassis.

That car is a poor example of a Porsche and wouldnt even consider it a 993 by any means. Its a molested Porsche and should fall into its own forum called "Mutts"

ok, i guess i'm going to pass. i've already had two 993's so i don't want another one, and i thought this would be a fun POS to flash around town in. i actually love the boxster, i think the mid-engine/drivetrain design is awesome and it handles exceptionally well, but i'm 220 lbs, and over 6 feet tall so it will never happen...

also, i think he put 17s instead of the correct wheels because the fronts will scrape in a U-turn since they are not centered, that is what concerns me more than anything else. I wouldn't know how to fix that. The rest is just body work. Needed a clutch and some seals too, no biggie. I changed my own clutch kit in my 993 twice.

i also found a 91 c2 cabrio with 70k miles. seller won't take less than 16.5k but it needs minor body work (scrapes on the bumpers, and a ding in the deck lid). totally stock, unmolested.

I love this thread.
Great entertaniment.

Pardon the queston but if you had 3 993's why would you want to drive an sc made to look like a terrible interpretation of a 993.
If you are looking for a beater there are some high mileage 993's for just a few more.

I just dont get it.

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but if you keep your eyes open with help like this link

http://jaxed.com/cgi-bin/ms.cgi?veh=porsche%20993

you will find many proper Porsche 993s in Southern and Northern Cal, the highest concentration of Porsches in North America, and even a flight up to Northern Cal to witness the PPI with reputable guys like realmeangarage.com and many others will not ruin your budget.

This "Precision Conversion" should not even have flashed across your consciousness as a possibility, even if you are on a tight budget.

I found another "993" on ebay for a lot less. Only $4,500.

okay, i'm back. it's a piece of **** from A-Z. worth $7 IMHO and I still wouldn't buy it. looks like a drawing of a car I made in 1st grade, only brought to real life. seller is still nice though, just ignorant. knows nothing about porsches.

if you guys need more info, i'll be happy to share. peace.
