I think when you consider the price of a Willhoit car, you have to compare it to the price of the same RPM car. I've seen a car disappear from Willhoit's website just to show up at RPM for +$5k a week later.

Willhoit has a number of beautiful cars and their pics on the web are second to none..
But those prices are insane... 76K for a 10 year old car that sold new for damn near the same amount.. jeepers.
These guys always seem to have nice clean cars and their prices are based on what they have invested not what eBay is fetching..

There might be only a handful of 993 C2S's with under 10K miles for sale at any given time (and less each year).
From that perspective, there should be an enormous premium on these cars.

yes you are right
Fair market value is often an estimate of what a willing buyer would pay to a willing seller, both in a free market, for an asset or any piece of property. If such a transaction actually occurs, then the actual transaction price if usually the fair market value. Note that the opinion of people that are not interested in buying or selling an asset has little meaning, because they are not active in the market. Thus, "market value" (which is the same for everyone in the market) is not identical to the "intrinsic value" that different individuals may place on the same asset based on their own preferences and circumstances.

Bottom line anything is worth what some one is willing to pay!
We as Porsche owners should be happy when cars like ours go for a TON of money, that raises the prices of all our cars, & if anything happens to our car, will be easier to show the insurance company the "market" value.
