It also has a much cooler **** (but who knows if it will be durable and not end up falling off).

I had actually ordered a set of PSS9s two weeks ago. I only heard about the PSS10s while the set was enroute. Fortunately, I had the shop put a hold on the process untill we had more information. After returning from PRI, my shop gave me the update on the PSS10 story.
Hello everyone!

I had a local client call me and tell me about this thread. I just had an IM converstaion with a senior player at Bilstein's North Carolina offices.

We are a Bilstein Warhouse Distributor and have direct access to them and their products.

All of the above information is indeed true. They are in transit. There are limited quantities, all of which are sold.

I just wanted to help clear the air.

Have a great weekend!

How much will the PSS10 be for the 993? Any idea on pricing?

I met with Larry Eckert of Bilstein at the PRI show. He did confirm 993 fitments and should be arriving soon. Nothing much has changed other than another click. A new and more robust adjuster assembly that help prevents dirt from getting 'in'.. Also improved plating processes.

When I asked about offering a better range of damping, I was told nothing different. I honestly dont remember if the extra click was for more damping or the same amount that of the PSS9 kit, just refining the adjustments. I did mention to Larry that many of us feel the 1-9 adjustment to be more of a two position damper vs. 9 actual different valving settings. At least settings of value. I also mentioned Bilstein quality and the fact that I have received SEVERAL damper kits that have quality issues. See the below image: (they at least didnt forget the QC decal)

The PSS10s with damptronics are indeed on the market. Jason (Atomic80) had them installed on his 997tt a week ago.

If the discussion on availability here is 993-specifc, then I'm not sure. Would not be surprised if it's hitting the market very soon though. If they have the latest/greatest mouse-trap (an assumption on my part), why wait?

The rep I talked with at Bilstein, North Carolina, told me they wouldn't be available for the 996TT until later next year, 2008. Other than the adjuster, they are basically the same.

pss10's are produced already for all models, people are mixing up.
Call the owners of bilstein:

http://www.thyssenkrupp-bilstein.com...mp-federn.html

They say if bilstein has improved the pss9 with a click after years of launch, this means that bilstein is in trouble.

I would not purchase expensive pss10's, but rather cheap 9's

and for Craig's sake I am organising a GB

Hi Mike, I'v also got a B5 S4 & have purchased to much stuff from AWE...

Anyway, is this the part # for the 993? Isn't the "damptronic" ones $3200 & the "normal" PSS10 $2400?

Everyone is getting the terminology confused.

Damptronics are for late model 997's with PASM. That's it.

All the othe platforms (993 and 996) will switch to PSS10's if they have not done so already.

Hope that clears the air.

Oh, and thanks for choosing us! We appreciate it.

Man, I am always behind. One of my biggest beefs on the PSS-9's is the crappy ***** and lack of feel on the indents. At least you can see the numbers now...and holy crap there is a red mark to show what the setting is!

I also find 9 settings a bit nuts...I can't feel the difference between a 4 to a 5 for instance, but I sure can feel it from 9 to 1!

I see they also got rid of the two seperate springs for different rates and went with a spiral design....simplier for sure. It looks like the rear hats are also there (at least it looks like it from the picts).

Cheers,

MIke
