Default Sparco Seat Install

I am in the process of purchasing Sparco seats for my 97 993. The question is, if I use the BK Brackets or whatever, I could easily make my own, what needs to be done for the airbag circuit in the passenger and drivers seat? Is there any sensor at all or can I just install the seats and there you go. Just wondering because something is there since you need a device if a child seat is installed in the front to disable the bag. My thinking was that it will be in the belt buckle. I will be using the stock belts only.

Oh well, please help me so I can purchase them. If the seat sensor won't work and I have no airbag, then I will just leave the seats stock.

No sensors that I recall, you can't shutoff the airbag unless you disconnect them.

What seats are you purchasing? I installed the Sparco Evo L (or 2) for driver and passenger with recaro sliders, BK sidemounts and BK hardware for the belts. It wasn't a easy job...doable, but the fit is tight with the EVO's in the 993...especially against the tunnel. Be prepared for some frustration. Plan carefully, test fit EVERYTHING...etc. etc. you will love the result though!

+1 on what Dave said. Installing anything but the Euro GT3 seats is a complete PITA and requires time and patience. It's not impossible (I did it), but rewards perseverance and a slight amount of mechanical ability.

I am thinking of the roadster or fighter. I had the roadsters in my Lotus Esprit and that was an easy task. I sold them and will be putting in another set. Don't ask me why. Since there is nothing to worry about, then I will be doing this soon. To make the brackets, i have my friend who has a CNC puncher to make them. If the cost is high, then i will just purchase the BK. I am small, 5-5 so I want to make sure that I can still see comfortably over the dash heheheh. I, however, fit perfectly in an esprit!

Ditto what the other said, I put Evo 2's in mine and it was a PITA, but I gained on the track.

This might help you. It in the DIY section here
