Unhappy Missing Silver Thing??

I don't have that "trumpet thingy" on my intake. What is it called? and how can I get one? Is it a bad thing not having one? Thanks for the help.

I do think you're missing the trumpet, but it doesn't make a difference to performance. You can pick up a Motorsound cover off of ebay for $40 or so.

If you're looking to duplicate the sound of the Motorsound cover, flip the lid over and note the pattern molded into the rear. Drill these dimples and you'll get the exact same sound.

I have the Motorsound cover but am not really a fan of the cheesy chromed plastic rim.....

Thanks mark. FYI i just got signed off in de yellow. my last track day I used Michelin pilot sport cups or trac tires for the first time. And WOW! I felt every pebble and the car was so connected. This car amazes me every time I drive it. No one ever came near me or passed me for 2 days. I just have to work on my patience I feel I need to write pass on my hood. I'm like "come on give me the point!" trac on

I bought a standard airbox lid for $20 on eBay, and used a Dremel with a cutting wheel to remove most of the lid to make it look like the carbon fiber Supercup lid that sells for $150+. It gives a great sound at WOT, but I only use it on clear days, as it won't keep water out of the air filter if it's raining. For those days, I use the original lid.

Thanks! It's almost as much fun as the "real" 993. I only wish I were small enough to fit behind the wheel...

Looks like a fun toy that I could actually afford to race. Where did you get it? Are they still available?

I bought it at Pep Boys (!) a couple of years ago; it was about $40. They were also sold at Target at the same time. I haven't seen them in quite a while, but with Christmas a few weeks away they may show up again.
