Does anyone have experience with these kits that are on sale?

Hyphenf15, thanks for the heads up. I just placed an order for H1 4500k kit from him for $149 with shipping. Looks like he's in the states so hopefully shipping will be faster than from the guy on Ebay from China. I'll post a follow up when I get them.

+1
I didn't heat mine up but also used a couple of prying devices to get the grommet stretched so the connector would slip through.
Not real easy but I definitely wouldn't cut or drill. A silicone lube would also make it easier. Good idea on the heat.

FYI. I got mine 2 days after my Paypal cleared from China. Maybe that's why shipping was $38.

Dan, glad to hear you got them installed. Easiest mod that I have done!

There was no shipping charge for the set I purchased from Dave at DXHID.com and the group discount made the decision even easier. The only bad part is I might have to wait until x-mas to officially open my present.

Ron,
I hope they turn out to be as good as advertised. Certainly can't be price and I can't wait to install them.

I saw that article too and it raises some good points. Our lights have a projector type design that is similar to most designs for HIDs. I think the article is aimed more at people who try to put an HID lamp in a conventional reflector headlamp like that found on most earlier cars. I "tested" my installation against a wall before and after and the HID light projection pattern appears to be pretty much the same as with the stock halogen. The other thing that reassured me is that the lens part numbers for the standard and litronic are the same. There are different part numbers for the headlamp unit itself but I suspect the differences are mostly around the differences in wiring for the ballasts (remember the original litronics have part of the electronics in the headlight).

Well - I'm on the GB list as well.
Going for the 6500K colour.
One of many modifications and upgrades planned for this winter.
