The stock varioram system fitted to the NVR engine will increase torque from 2000-3500rpm and increase power from 6500rpm to the redline. Do some subtle porting work on the lower aluminium sections of the manifolds and you should see more power from 6200 up. The NVR engine switches its resonance flaps at 5600rpm whereas the VR shortens the tubes at 5100 and opens its flap at 5900, you can compromise the installation by simply operating both tubes and flap from the one signal at 5600rpm - just link all the solenoid valves together from the one plug.

Will not affect performance at the power level of near standard cars, given that both the NVR and VR heads are seriously over-ported for any engine specification you would care to build - in my opinion the Varioram was simply a band-aid to make better torque from a badly designed engine in the first place.

On a track car w/ a close ratio gear box the vram isn't any help because you are out of it's range most of the time(5100-5900), on a track mine is 6-7k most of the time
