Default Feedback on Dallas Custom Steering Wheels?

Ran across these guys and was wondering if anyone has used them or heard good/bad feedback on them:
http://www.dallassteeringwheel.com/index.htm

Was thinking of covering a 3 spoke wheel in Alcantara...

I am in Dallas and have never heard of them. The ebay auction I saw looked like they sewed some alcantera over a stock steering wheel.

was there something else they should have done?

The fit looks good... of course, I'd like to hear from someone who has actually received their work. The sample pics always looks great.

Maybe that is what I need to get the 'thicker" wheel option without the crazy$$$$!

My comment seemed sarcastic, it wasn't meant to be. I don't know exactly where they are located, but I would be happy to do a drive by and check them out if anyone is seriously interested.

Nice looking work - quite a repertoire. I am wondering why someone had a steering wheel done on their Mercury Villager.

I was wondering the same thing.

Well, I am trading email with him on this. I may take the risk and try him out. I would post the results here, good or bad, of course.
PJ, Not sure if there is any value in you spending time going by the shop. I could be wrong... I mean, I guess you could see examples in person?
I'd appreciate it for sure, just not sure what good it would do. Any ideas?
Just don't want you to waste your time.

My thought was if it was close I would drop by to see their quality. But, I looked them up and and it is 20-30 minutes away. It would be worth the time to check out a car for a RLer, but maybe not a steering wheel. I appreciate your concern for my time.

How much is the wheel? Do you send yours to them or do they stock the wheels?

Why not send the steering wheel to the RL sponsor :http://www.928leathershop.com/
He has done several things on RL and from what I see his work is incredible...

Yes, I have seen his work and it is amazing... but he appears to be very busy.
I attempted contact (months ago) but did not get a response.

Maybe things have changed, I will try again and see.

I was quoted $289 for a recover (and thicker) wheel in Alcantara.
Thanks for considering it PJ but I don't think it is worth it for you to go by there.
Still thinking about this anyhow... I'd feel better if I knew someone who dealt with this guy. I'd rather not send my wheel and my money off to an unknown...
I'm getting paranoid in my advancing years We will see.

Mark,

the 928leathershop.com also has Alcantara pieces to cover your door and sides.

http://928leathershop.com/Dashboard,...el_Covers.html

That would go really well with what you have now.

ha! another trouble maker
I have thought about it... but then we have the dash...
and seats...
And center console...
and...
etc.

All of that is already leather and I like it as is I think

As for 928leathershop, yes, he does fantastic work and I checked with him. He is really busy so turn around time is long and a bit more costly. His work is top notch though. I've drooled over some examples of his stuff here.
