Hi Guys,
What sort of exhaust mods do I have to do to get this exact sound?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8pKMG9uUMs
I have tried E-mailing the guy who did the video but have had no response thus far.
Oh, and yes I am aware it's a 993 and I run a 964, so I will be changing just about everything!!!

Sounds like a LPMM done by FisterD. I understand he has a few variations available based on what size crossover pipe is used. Do a search for the modification I described and you will get all the info you need. By the way, he works very reasonably. Shipping for you will be the kicker. Best of luck!

The car was running Fabspeed cat-bypass pipes and my very own designed LPMM (Leland Pate Modified Exhaust). If you do a search for "LPMM" on rennlistdotcom you'll get all sorts of info on how to make your own setup." His screen name was lelandeod

It's funny, I emailed two links for LPMM to a friend of mine last night. I commented that lelandeod sound was so much better. I guess I am still on the fence about this mod, especially if there is a cat-bypass invovled to get the full growl effect.

Hi Strega,
That is Leland's video so it is an LPMM. For a legal sound you'll need sports cats rather than by-pass pipes. The volume and de-restriction comes from removing the standard cat. Some derestriction and a much better noise comes from the exhausts. We manage some rennlister meetings here in the south, funnily enough they are usually arranged through the 964 forum. Last meeting (which I missed) had someone who had done the "LPMM" mod.
I've got sports cats and RSRs which I generally get favourable comments on - you are welcome to listen them.
Cheers,
David

Legal as in needing cats... When you get old codgers coming up and telling you that your car (on tickover) is too loud you know you must be doing something right!

My car is a 1990 so no probs with not having a cat. I'm not sure the people that do the test at my nearest MOT station have a clue what mine is supposed to read anyway!!!!!
Shopping list so far is; 1) Pair of 993 heat exchangers
2)Pair of stock mufflers( i will LPMM them )
3)A lot of tubing to fabricate the heater ducts!
4)Some brackets to hold mufflers in place
5)2 tail pipes, one stealth, one standard
Does anyone think I have missed anything????

Turbo bumpers don't fit, they have a larger flair to meet the wider arch. If they made a proper PU corner I would have a second out, but don't fancy a fibreglass one or cutting mine about. So I think stealth is the way to go!!
