Hey, I've been looking for a 993 for about a year now. I've decided to get a cab, but before that I had 2 listers offer me their cars under 25k.

one was in KC, Mo silver 95 w/ 175k for $22k, another one in DC area w/ 120k miles, for 24k. both were daily drivers.

oh yeah, a 95 cab w/ 85kmiles for 28.5K and another cab on ebay for $34.5 w/35kmiles, white on white. both over were over 1,200 miles away...
(I'm looking for a cab in FLA or SE)

they are out there....

I emailed that guy twice when the ad first appeared two weeks ago, left both my email and phone numbers. Ad showed up again late last week, didn't bother. Showed up again......I saw it Monday AM and inquired again. No response.

Wow! $21K for high milage 993...
I wonder how much you have to put $$$ into fix/replace to make it worth presentable?
Oshin11, you said you're willing to break apart and fix all the stuff DIY...
The motto has always been and I believe it still holds true to this day,
"Buy best condition model that you can afford today!"
If all you can afford is $21K then my suggestion is don't buy high milage 993. Instead, why not consider mid milage 996 or excellent condition 964?
No offense...but just trying to make sure what you buy will be enjoyable for you.

Well I never said all I can afford is a high 21K 993. I can afford a 21K 993 and have 10 grand left over for a rebuild that may come up. I would rather have a solid 180K mile car that has gotten there with no rebuild than a 80K mile car that may need a rebuild right then and there. The difference is that the 80K 993 will be 28000.00 and I got my hands on an 180K mile 993 for only 19000.00 dollars. On december 28th I get a check for 10000.00 dollars

This is all kind of interesting.....I have a 97 993 Carrera in black with LWF/PSS9s/ with 103K miles and there is no way I would sell for $21K......maybe I am off base here but the lowest I would be prepared to sell her for would be in the high 20s.........

I'm sorry, I'd have to dis agree with the "buy the best" comment. My car was a cheap track junkie/DD car that had 92.5K miles when I bought it. Other than some normal maintenance issues that I fixed (DIY) when I bought it, its been the best trouble free car I've owned! It has almost 111K miles now, it just came back from 2 w/e's and almost 500 miles of track time and other than being slower than I'd like (is anything going to be fast enough?) the car is a blast to drive and has been well worth the money I didn't pay for it
Its about the basic condition of the essential parts, not what you spend on it. Plenty of guy here that have spent big money on "queens" only to have issues after buying such a low miles beauty.
I say buy what you want, for as little as possible, just know what you're getting into and make sure to be able to afford to not knowing

I'm hoping to get back in another P-car sometime soon. I want to stay air-cooled and was expecting to get into a 964, but based on some of the prices I've been seeing, it certainly seems possible I can find a 993 to fit the bill.

Personally, I think if you keep your eyes open, you'll be able to find something close to your price since you're aware you'll need to spend some dollars and time on refreshing it.

You should be able to get a 110K mile car with an 'ok' finish for 23.5 - 25K all day. With a VERY NICE finish, 25.5 - 27K Ask me how I know

Hehe, mileage is not that important to me. At 200K miles I plan on dropping the engine out, doing a Mike J DIY top/bottom end rebuild and sending the transmission out for a rebuilt. I have 10-12 grand saved up for that.

Or a rare green paint job, which apparently would be a plus in this case...

Amen. Will do my second oil change probably next weekend @ 115K, so that's 16K of driving in 3+ years that have cost next to nothing. Oh, I did recharge the a/c and put one of those ballast resistors on this summer.
