What exactly does this "zero preload" mean for you on the track?
But now I can lift the da** thing w/o crawling under to disconnect the rear sway bar droplinks. A truely miserable experince on a really low car like this.
If the drop links weren't disconnected the control would rest on the bar, not good.

Bill, I assume this is an issue with the JIC comps only ??

Yes, in combination w/ TRG or RS bars that reside under the control arms.
This issue has been bugging me since day1, I bent the ear of every knowledgeable person I could think of. No one had a solution. I finally drew up my own design for longer curved versions w/ Heim joint ends. Was shopping machine shops to fab them up when, out of the blue, a casual conversion w/ Austin about another issue resulted in these.

Three Wheelin'
Bill,
Are they for sale to the general public, or was this a custom thing? I ask, because I am considering Cross/JIC's with RS or TRG sways. Alternatively, can I avoid this hassle by going with a different comparable swaybar set-up from someone else?

Bill,
I often wonder about this as I watch the arm rest on my RS drop link. Do you think this is bad? Is this a stupid *** question as you just spent 2 years trying to eliminate this occurance?
I have never disconected the rear drop links when lifting the rear of the car.

Starnge Bill,
When I got my set of JICs from Viper Bob, he inlcuded the "new" drop link shackle you show above... was this an oversight/issue with the vendor you purchased your JICs from, or did I just get lucky with Viper Bob's experience and he knew I would need the new shackles?
If I recall correctly, Viper Bob got mine from TRG in combination with my TRG sways...I guess that would make sense, huh? Mine have never had any preload issues. I wish I had known you were having this problem long ago!

Yes, Austin knew what I needed immediately had them in his hand as we were talking. I'm guessing that none of the early adopters got the long shackles. Don P.'s was the first I saw and he used the long curved links supplied by V.B., that was my plan. But Sh** happens and for what ever reason V.B. was unable to supply them. Now ever since I have been looking at others installs and talking to everyone. I specifically asked about longer shackles and longer curved links. No one knew about these. I had honestly given up.
What a relief.
