Default What weight oil do you guys run in your 993? (with hydraulic cams that is)

Quick question. What weight oil do you guys run in your 993 if you still have the hydraulic cams, rather than a solid setup? What I am getting at, is that I have a lot of people who own both 993s and earlier cars, and would like to use just one oil, say Swepco 306 15w40 or Brad Penn 20w50. If M1 15w50 had been working for you guys, then the other two products more than likely won't have any problem residing in a hydraulic 993.

15W50, it seems to stick the best to the air hose and anything else I drag through that spot on the floor two feet inside the garage door, regardless of temperature

Need to caveat that with climate and conditions.

If I drove in warm weather only, and for long drives, I might use a 15W50. As an almost daily driver throughout the winter with frequent cold starts, I can't imagine using anything other than 0-5W40

Mobile1 0w40 for me. Car seems much happier now compared with whatever the previous owner had in it.

Filled with Mobil 1 15W50 until she's somewhat shy of 'full' -- and then 'topped off' with a smidgeon (1/2 quart) of Lucas (Oil Additive). So far (2.5 years of ownership) she's using a quart every 2,500+ miles and, as Scotty would say, "Aye canny hear the lifters cap'n."

Wow, if you use lucas and 15w50, then I guess the adjusters could care less how thick of an oil is used, since that lucas stuff is like molasses!

Charles:

No more M1 engine oils used here but we use either a 20w-50 or a 15w-40 in all of our air-cooled street and racing engines.
