Desire HP mods? Don't forget about 9Meister or TPC Superchargers. All it costs is money.

An old post but I think I'll have a shot at this.
One of my closest friends holds a masters degree in electrical engineering and is not only very talented but also is and has been his entire life very dedicated to this field of industry.

I asked him the other day if it would be possible to build a megasquirt for our BMW racecar that would utilize the stock harness. Well, two months later we have a megasquirt, which is btw entirely re-designed with all new components (since my friend did not like a lot of the cheap components and bad design), which not only works with the stock harness but also fits inside a stock Siemens ECU. Therefore swapping from Race tune (megasquirt) to BMW stock ECU is as is as unplugging and plugging the other ECU back.
i.e. on a street car; race tune for use, standar ECU for inspection etc.
We did this for our race car because the rules state that the harness must be original.

Now Colin's recent thread on making 50hp on motec conversion had me call my friend to see if we could work out something for my 993 as well. He was interested as I expected so stay tuned...

This has been my understanding as well, but take a look at what Colin just did:

MOTEC conversion

Since this will not cost me much more than €200 in components + couple of hours of dyno time, I'll try it just for the heck of it.
