Default Caliper clearance Q

I could have looked this up myself a while back but since I don't own a pcar anymore , it's more difficult do I figured I'd post here.

Looking at the picture below, (assuming regular NB front and rear breakes, not the big reds (maybe no difference?)) what is the correct number in mm for the figure "c"? E.g the distance between the outmost part of the caliper and the wheel hub? I saw on Brembos homepage that their recommended caliper clearance is ~3mm. Does this sound OK? Would you be ok with 2mm or should you rather go for 4mm?

To calculate the figure "c" for lets say a 993 NB Coupe, you need to measure the distance between the hub and the outmost part of the caliper and then add 3mm. Anyone? Sorry for the bad pic.

TIA

It's 60mm from the outer face of the rotor to the outer edge of the caliper

Thanks Bill I was hoping you would chime in . What about from the outer edge of the caliper to the wheel hub? Looking at custom offset wheels and want to get the deepest lip possible without getting the wheelcentre of the split rim too close to the outer edge of the caliper. I would guess that the wheel hub much closer to the outer edge of the caliper right?

I have to admit that I am confused, the wheel mounts to the rotor not the hub.

The distance from the wheel mounting face to the outer plane of the front caliper is 23.1mm

Sorry Bill, I am new to this terminology. Now I am confused. I just need to know the distance from where the wheel mounts to the outer plane of the caliper. That is 23.1mm? Is it the same for both front and rear? Big red calipers thicker than standard or same thickness? Just curious. Thanks for your expertise.

Jeez, I just put everything away

Yes, you want to know the ditance from the wheel mounting face to the outer plane of the caliper.

993 front is 23.1mm

993RS/tt front is the same

993 rear is 18.5mm

993RS/tt rear is going to be harder to get, next time I pull the wheel I can get that one
