993 C4S mod suggestions?
I just bought a C4S and I'm interested in mod suggestions. This is a daily driver so I don't want track modifications. I'm just curious about any sort of experience with chips, exhaust, etc that anyone can comment on. WA requires a front license plate which looks like crap on this car. Has anyone tried a decal image of your license plate? I had a guy mention this the other day and it sounded like a cool solution.
So far I had the windows tinted and that's about it. I also attached a couple of pictures, the one of the speedometer is from my trip back to Seattle from NE. Damn hard to take a cell phone picture when you are going that fast!
Thx,
Rob

Maybe only 130 with the speedo error? Honestly, I've never taken my C4S past.......well maybe it's the 120ish you get on the front straight at Thunderhill. How accurate are they up top anyway?

Speed
It wasn't that big of a deal, relax. Broad daylight, straight, flat road, no traffic.
I was actually going 160 but I couldn't take the picture and go that fast. I think it tops out at 168 but the last 15mph take a long time to wind out. 120 isn't a big deal though.

Congrats on your purchase and the appropriate first image-- dont tell anyone, but I got a chuckle out of it.. Now lets keep the speed on the track

Funny you qualified that as "modern vehicle".........the only times I got over toward that position with a street car, seems like a lifetime ago, is with mechanical speedo 911's. And you could easily be 10% off.

Hey, another (almost) twin! (see avatar)
As for the front plate, I'm searching as well. I've got a Euro front bummper w/o the plate holes and I'll be damned if I'm putting the holes in there. I have seen a front plate mount somewhere here on RL before that mounts really low and keeps the front bumper line clean. The "Search" function is your friend here.
Of course, now that I'm thinking about it....
A search for "front license plate mount" yields:

No affiliation, just a random search find...

I used to wonder how, on a perfectly clear day with no traffic, cars skid off the highway and end up wiped out on the median, sometimes injuring and/or killing someone. Thanks for solving that mystery.

The RS short shifter is a nice mod, inexpensive (used to be ~$100, check carnewal.com or Sunset Porsche) and pretty easy DIY; search "short shift". RSR or LPMM muffler mods (again search for details), maybe one of those armrests (Bird, Byrd, not sure of spelling).
Or just do it all, suspension, motor mounts, chip, even though you don't intend to track it, as those things make the car more fun even on the street. Have fun!
