Default Blue interior questions

I'm about to look at a 993 with blue interior. Does it look better in person? How about the blue dashboard? Is this color less desirable? Also, is it possible to dye the dashboard blue or am I just looking for trouble?

Thanks.

The difference is night and day. Very ugly in pictures, great looking in person.

I have a blue interior. And yes, it looks great in person and not so good in photos. But everyone has their likes/dislikes. I really don't like the gray interior and love the red, black and cashmire colors.

Some have dyed some pieces - and entire interiors - black. You can dye darker but not lighter.

I have the blue/gray interior as well and think it looks great in person.

i think dying it would be a good idea.

One of the ugliest interior colors I've ever seen, imho.

I'd have bought a blue interior. I think it gives a sort of retro flair, like the red interiors do.

I passed on a polar silver w/ blue interior when I was shopping for my 993. It reminded me too much of my '75 Chevy that I had in college.

You better see THAT blue in person before you buy a car long-distance. They do look different in person, and only you can decide whether you think the difference is better or worse. There are also more than one blue, I believe. Metropol and midnight? (at the least)

I purchased a '95 993, artic/silver w/blue interior. The photos I saw prior to purchasing the car showed a stark blue interior. I purchased the car anyway and am not sorry. You get used to the color and don't give it another thought. Just my $.02 worth. Thanks.

For me, the only blue interior I liked was on a white cab with a blue top.

I had the same experience. Mine is a polar/midnight C4S and when I was contemplating buying it, it was a very nice car I just couldn't pass up but the interior color was a deal breaker for me. I had never seen midnight blue in person and it always looks awful in pictures. I found a local RLer with a blue interior and went to take a look. I liked it better than in the pics but still viewed it as a compromise.

After owning it for a few weeks, I started to fall in love with it and now I think its one of the funkiest color combos on 993s. My fiance loves it and if you ask her, she'll tell you it's her first choice, and this coming from a woman with great taste.

Color and taste is a very personal thing.

Yeah, the Metropol I found on a '96 C4S about 5 years ago (white car) looked OK. But not that OK.

You wanna talk weird? The Signal Yellow '95 I have now came delivered with Midnight Blue! Kim exorcised all evidence when he did the RS conversion, thankfully. But I do have the set of sport seats that I will definitely use in whatever cab I pick up. After a likely change to black.

I always thought that 'Lobster' was a nice interior color on the early white or silver 930's Of course, I like real 'color' 911's too: bright greens, yellows, oranges, red, brown, etc.
