OK, two weeks now running all around in the C4S since I got rid of my Saabaru commuter........I need something else as a driver. Just some sorta-loved but not pristine cab that isn't being held for a King's ransom. Maybe even a tip, as all I'm going to use it for is driving 25 miles up and down the freeway from home to shop and back. Something I can park outside if necessary. Presentable enough for a weekend run with the top down, weather permitting. I've got two other 993's (plus the RSA), so this thing doesn't have to be "the answer" or "car of my dreams". I think the only colors ruled out would be silver, yellow and red......since I have those already.
Obviously, somewhere in California is preferred.
Save me from defaulting to a 330 or M3!
Anyone?

Call Mike Lederer for his well prepared cab. Suspension, LWF, full high-end stereo, Euro front bumper plus a whole lot of other stuff I cannot think of at the moment. I'll PM you his number.

Supposedly there are a lot of 993s for sale at good prices, especially cabs with Tips, so you should be able to find a deal. Maybe especially from some cab owner that is suffering from the problems of the mortgage market.

Me, I have over 25 years with these things, and miles don't scare me at all. For this car all I ask is that it's not on a salvage title, has not had major body damage. and is pretty presentable. But the price has to damn well reflect where it is in the pecking order, too.
Thanks to Chris too for turning me onto a promising lead. Except it's silver/black. Which probably would make for the easiest resale, but I've ridden that train at least 5 times already..........
So, we'll see!

I have a 98 Wimbledon Green cab with 20k miles, just did clutch and service last week to contemplate sale. Have original sticker of $85k. I would like $45k. I want to get a coupe so I am open to a trade as well. Car is collector quality.

Hey Ken,
I gotta make the suggestion. Why don't you pick up an E46 M3. I love a 911 as much as the next guy, but a little variety is nice now and again. It looks like you have enough 911's, especially 993's, to satisfy the need.
IMHO, it's always nice to have a bit of variety and a E46 is a very capable daily driver. You might even enjoy some of the BMW technology. Bluetooth, Nav, even some cup holders..
I have two 911's and still drive a BMW for my DD. But I'm also a big guy and like comfort mixed performance. So BMW fits my needs.
BTW, do you have any pictures of your "progressive stacker trailer"?
I am considering purchasing one and any pics, opinions or suggestions you might have would be great.
I just picked up a F-350 Lariat, Dually, Short Bed and am looking for a good multi 911 trailer.

Hey Ken, I notice you have an F350 with the 6.0. I am looking for a replacement for my aging F150 and have heard that the 6.0 had some issues... Have you had any problems? I would like to get an 99-03 F250 or 350 with the 7.3 powerstroke. Any thoughts? This is primarily a truck for working on my massive house remodel. (The project is massive not the house...LOL) I need to haul 1500-2000lbs and or tow 6-8000 lbs trailers. My F150 has been great, but is tired and I need a bigger payload capacity, not to mention better fuel economy. I am getting only 6mpg hauling stuff, 10 empty. My truck is way underpowered with the little 302.

How many of that color are out there. I think I saw one on Sloan's site that was given to Mary Pierce for winning a tennis tournament.

OK, to answer both ends of this:
We've got an E46 already. Picked up a '99 on euro delivery, and it got about 90K on it in the first five years. Only 15K since as my wife only has to go 8 miles to and from a BART station now. We actually took it down your way a couple of weeks ago. Spent next to nothing on it, and it still drives just fine. Get another in a convertible? Sure, but they're just so generic. I can go down and find any number of '01-'04 330's on any given day. Maybe not though if I want anything BUT a Raider Nation tribute car (e.g. silver or black). M3? I need all that to cruise up and down the freeway? (I know I'm sounding like the guy who did a 930 body conversion on a 912E, but that's not really me.)
Now onto the trailer. You DO NOT want a stacker for two production cars. Maybe if they are 2200 pounds or something..... Mine was built by Progressive in Phoenix for a couple of guys who bought Radicals just after me. (They ran the NCRC/ARC DE and racing group.) When one of them crashed his and quit, they sold me this 9 month old, $34K near-palace on wheels for $21K. Why? Limited resale market. It's HEAVY (8K empty), and not tall enough to accomodate two production cars. Radical on top, 911 on the bottom is fine though. And it's a bumper pull, and believe me, it's a handful to tow. So just go get a decent gooseneck of 36' (44' as they measure them with the goose), and have fun!
Picture is previous owner's setup and his cars.
