Cool Got new wheels. Went with something a little different...(part 2)

Two months ago I put 19" 997 Sport Designs on my black car. While they looked great, the need for massive spacers and possibly the size of the rims killed the ride quality. So, I sold the Sport Designs and bought these babies. Enjoy the pics.

Nice looking wheel - -who make those? Bummer they didnt machine a lip to wheel caps to be used. Do you know the weights of those wheels?

Wheels are CCW. It's a small boutique shop in FL that specializes in custom-made racing wheels. I got them in 18x9 and 18x11 with custom offsets and weigh 19 and 21 lbs respectively. I hear you on the caps but frankly, the capless look has now grown on me. Together with the CNC machining grooves I think they look very industrial/mechanical. I love how massive the red calipers look and how they reflect on the aluminum.

Very nice.
Are they clear coated? If not...enjoy polishing those puppies.

What is the diameter opening of the cap area? They are very nice looking wheels.

I love my HRE540s but I am SICK and TIRED of cleaning these mesh wheels. I really want to switch to RUF wheels but not sure if I want to go back to spacers and heavier wheels.

Nice work... were these expensive?

Cool...what were the final offsets you settled on? ET55 and ET40?

Garrett: I bought them without clear because I'm planning on finishing them in black chrome, similar to the optional finish on your wheels.

Tony: Okay, so you've identified the downside. Because they are CNC machined, the edges are very sharp. The first time I cleaned them, I got numerous cuts in my hands. I've now bought a dedicated wash mitt, the kind that fits like a glove, and problem solved. These are much easier to clean than my old Sport Designs.

David: I honestly can't remember. I phoned CCW today to get them because I want the numbers for my files. I'll let you know when I get them. I can tell you that I did my homework to make sure I had the wheel as far out as possible without having to roll my fenders. Tires are 245 and 315.

The pictures look decent but they honestly don't do the wheels justice. When you see them in person, they look very aggressive.

Can you post the name of the shop, want to see if they are avaialble in 18" (8 & 10) with 52 & 65 bs. I like that 'clean' but beefy industrial look, but might like center-cap-ability.

Pls excuse this question to nubeeness: Based on your stated wheels weights vis-a-vis a comparable size in Porsche or other wheels, are they heavier, lighter or about the same??? Are they trackable?

www.ccwheel.com. Mine are 18" and they build them for you to spec. so you can have whatever offsets you want, including OE sizes. These wheels do not come with caps but I've thought about getting a place like www.bumperplugs.com to create a plastic cap for me, however, I've since decided that I like them without. These are racing wheels and 19/21 are very light. In comparison, the OE hollow spoke twists are ~22/25 IIRC.

That really depends upon which wheel you want to compare to.
