Default WTB: factory RS heater bypass tube

Does anyone know if these are still available, and from who? Or, does anyone have one -- or a well-fitting CF one -- that they'd sell me?

I bought one of Thom's tubes, but it looks like, at least for now, the molds are shot. The bottom opening is close to a half inch too wide, and the perimeter isn't circular. It's oval. Thom isn't sure when he's going to have good ones available again, so at this point, rather than reassemble the stock heater parts, I'd like to find (ideally) a factory piece, or a well-fitting CF one.

I just ordered the factory piece from Sunset for $188. This is what I should have done in the first place...

(I also ordered the RS shift kit )

Nice call on the RS shift kit. If I recall, it costs less than the tube of plastic otherwise known as the 'bypass pipe'. WTF?

Not if you buy the rod that goes w/ the shifter.

Why would you want to bypass the heater?

Because the heater blower assembly is big, bulky, covers up a lot of access and the car heats just as well without it if you use a bypass tube. I sold my heater for enough to pay for my carbon fiber bypass tube.

Yeah, I know. That rod is big bucks. Maybe Porsche financed Cayenne development with the sales of the RS rod?

+1
Blower isn't needed unless you're driving the car in the winter.
Fabspeed sells block-off plates which are another option vs. the bypass pipe.

I paid ~ $350 a few months ago from Sunset. Damn pricey, but such a nice, precise feel

Any pics of before and after for comparison?
I don't drive my car in winter, but will occasionally take it out for a spin.
What other benefits besides replacing the big and bulkier part.
