I received the $145 remote today... however the programming
method as described below by Rally Jon does not seem to work on my
car.
First of all, my "remote" symol in the clock is a "steering wheel" symbol
I have Silver Guages... would this still be the same as the remote symbol??
Secondly, the "flashing after 15 seconds" bit does not occur. What happens
is that the Steering Wheel symbol lights up and goes off 1 time at about
15 seconds then comes back on again and stays lit.
In any event...this programming method is not working does anyone
have any suggestions? I am following it to a T... please help me avoid
paying a few hundred dollars for this BS work.
Thx.

From another thread. Foolproof programming in less than 10 min:

1. Unlock the car with the remote and wait at least 3 minutes for the immobilizer to prime.
2. Switch the ignition on. The warning light (looks like a remote symbol) in the clock will go on and then off after 15 seconds.
3. Switch the ignition off and on again within 5 seconds. The warning light in the clock will light up and start to flash after 15 seconds.
4. Start to enter the key code within 5 seconds. Enter the code by turning the key off-on for each digit of the code. Wait for the warning light in the clock to come back on between each digit of the code. For example: 1302
1 = ignition off-on
wait for warning light to come on
3 = ignition off-on, off-on, off-on
wait for warning light to come on
0= ignition off-on (10 times)
wait for warning light to come on
2=ignition off-on, off-on
5. If the number was entered correctly the warning light will flash after the last digit is entered. When the light is flashing the remote can be programmed and MUST be programmed within one minute.
6. Press the button on the remote until the LED of the alarm system flashes. Operate all the remotes one after the other, wait for the LED to flash after each.
7. When all of the remotes are programmed (no more than 4) switch the ignition off.
i mean, reading the technique where it takes you like 51 minutes
to program a new remote by yourself...you need a stopwatch and be in
an empty field somewhere with a 6 pack (or a soundproof garage) to even try and attempt it yourself.. grr
Do you have a very early '95 with the '94 style immobilizer? If you're not one of those few, ignore all that crap on p-car.com and read down to the bottom of the DIY page. Or just read your owners manual--the procedure is VERY simple and spelled out right there in the proverbial FM.

Yup, I got my radio and immobilizer codes from a dealer(Clair outside Boston) in about 3 minutes. They were most accomodating even though I don't use them for service.
