Default RoW sport versus RS + 10 mm

I'm trying to decide on suspension heights. 18 inch wheels, 1996 993.
I do about 50% track and 50% fast street, out in the mountains.
I do no commuting at all and I'm not really interested in a smooth ride, I can put up with a bit of bang and crash.
Looking to get the Bilstein HDs and the M030 (actually might get the RS sways instead form what I've read on the boards) and need to know if that 10 mm difference makes any difference on track or not. Thanks.

I put mine about one MM below the bottom of the ROW Sport range, which is the same thing as RS+9. It works well on the street without getting into the whole "bump steer" issue or the rear sway hitting the lower suspension arm. I think you'll find that most end up right around there or 2 to 5 mm higher than mine, although some test their luck at RS+5.

10mm does make a difference, given that this isn't a daily driver RS height would be my choice. At that height bump steer isn't an issue. If you get RS sways they mount under the suspension arms and at RS height have minimun clearance anyway.

The bump steer issue is what concerned me so Im at 134f/117r which puts me right at the high end of RS and low end of ROW Sport. Looks great, drives even better.

Are you guys getting these cars corner balanced? I had my car set at ROW030 exactly and after my alignment guy was done with the car, the drivers side is 1/4" to 3/8" higher than the passenger side. I guess I'm saying that getting it down to the mm might be a bit overkill in the real world.

Yes, I believe (almost) everyone does a proper corner balance. If anything, the driver's side starts out slightly higher to allow for driver weight, then the chips fall where they may during the corner balance process. Seems that your 10mm difference from side to side is excessive, but I'm no expert. Mine is <2mm difference, front and rear.

I just got mine aligned at RS + 5mm. I only added the 5mm because I use the car as a daily, but if I was using it as you plan to, I'd stick with RS. No bump steer issues at my height and 10mm does make a difference.

If I was doing that much track work, I'd look to get PSS9's which have adjustable damper settings. Alan from Aceparts has these on his turbo and by all accounts, it makes for a very fast car on the track and still usable on the road.

JIC or Moton would be even better, but most people never adjust them any way.
