Where can I purchase the "911" badge for the back in the place of "Carrera"
Also, what is the best way to remove the badge without messing the paint.
Any pics of with the "911" badge would be appreciated.

Best place to buy the "911" is at the dealer. Second part of your question, depends on the MY of your car
and the color, older car (95-96) in red, blue or black you can probably forget it as the paint will be etched already.

Lift off the current Carrera emblem and clean the paint with 3M adhesive remover, polish with 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and you will know if you have to buy another "Carrera" emblem or if you can put on the "911" emblem.

...you may have to wet sand/polish the entire deck lid since as was already observed above - the heat and time will have created a 'carrera' indentation in the paint where the badge was. AFter I sand and polish my black 95' I anticipate that the 'carrera' script will still be noticeable. This is a good thing since it will guide placement of my new badge...which is going to be 'silver' this time:^)

they have a lot of 'oem' script for deck lids... some have even done it in 993.. using the 968 script.

most remove w/ the lid is warm & then use thread or dental floss to remove, then a good adhesive remover (some say wd40 works "?"), clean, wet sand, polish & wax, then affix new one.

The efficient and oft-mentioned dental floss technique for badge removal has not yet been discussed. Use a sawing motion to cut through the double-sided, factory tape. It'll look like hell, but it'll be just wax so don't sweat it.

I got mine from Automotion a few years back, but as Rich said, the "Carrera" was/is etched in the black paint of the decklid. Sanding & polishing did not work. I'm waiting for a spare few hundred bucks and I'll repaint the deck (and maybe fill the holes from the basket handle).

My original script was partially lifting, so I used fishing line to do as Mark described. The gentle sawing motion and a few seconds with a heat gun did the trick. The remaining adhesive was a bear to remove - I used Goof Off followed by a paint cleaning and polishing. The ghost image of the original emblem was visible enough that I used a black marker to make discrete dots in the center of the "a", "e", and "a" of "Carrera". These dots allowed me to place the new emblem in the exact location as the original. I tried measuring and placing tape marks, but felt sketchy about getting the placement right. Once the new adhesive touches the paint, there is no room for error.

I did the dental floss method, but the Carrera was already etched in there. Then I trashed the car on the track and got a respray out of it. After that the 911 badge looked perfect.

I, too, tried to 'de-badge' my car when I had the holes from the basket handle filled. As the old emblem had left a clear, black outline, I decided to go with the silver script, and am very happy with the result.

the numbers come already aligned on a piece of cardboard/paper (at least mine did). I guess you can tape them together from the top before you remove them from their paper to keep them properly aligned.

I wish there were some examples of other "badges" as I am getting a deck re-spray with my Shaw wing. 993 sounds cool cause for non porsche people it would be a "duh. wazat?"
