Default LPPM - do you still like it, why/why not???

LPPM sounds really cool from the web shots - depending on 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2", 90mm, etc. crossover tube size. Is everybody happy w/it??? Anybody revert it back to stock? Anybody still running it? Seems like an easily revertable system versus going inside the can to do it. We live on a 1 mile private semi-hilly road and I like to idle through in 3rd to get that low speed 'sound' fix through the trees and bounced off an enclosed swimming pool structure or two along the way. Wonder if I should consider starting with a 1.25" bypass to not wake the dead while idling through snobbish tranquility. Seems to me the really cool way to do it might be to fab a sanitary selectable mechanism so you can go back and forth as mood dictates. Just reach under the bumper and - click! Anybody considering selling a Bischoff LPMM???

I still like mine alot. I have this one on ramp where there is a concrete wall on my right hand side. I like to wind the motor out on this on ramp. The echo off the wall, top down, is the greatest sound ever. I've not heard RSRs in a really long time so hard for me to compare.

Still amazed by the LPMM (2") conversion each time I drive the car. You can keep the car quiet, barely louder than stock, just by staying out of the throttle. Get above 4500 rpm at WOT and watch out. Reflective surfaces give a true idea of just how loud your car has become. Very cloak and dagger without having to resort to a selectable mechanism other than the gas pedal. I could never go back.

The ideal mod IMHO: starts with a bark that draws admiring glances - can motor away quietly - absolutely no resonances nor intrusion when cruising - must be heard to be believed when you put your foot into it ....
I used some scrap 40mm SS pipe ( ~1.6").

Cool beyond belief - wonder if it does anything at all for a nonVarioram car engine other than the seductive sound:^)

Like you, I have a 1995 model. I opted for a 1.75" LPMM. There is not much difference between this and stock below 4,000 RPM, but above 4,000 RMP at WOT it has a wonderful deep growl. As has been noted, this is most noticable when driving between two vertical structures.

I cannot imagine being tempted to go back to the stock setup.

I went from supercups to LPMM.

Wish I could have the best of both - quiet at low rpm/respectively loud at higher rpms vs. just damn disrespectful.

I have done about a dozen of these, and have had NO COMPLAINTS! It's just an awesome mod. I would highly recommend it. I always use 2" stainless tubing.

I had stock non-Motorsound mufflers done at a local muffler shop for $60 and added the Motorsound airbox cover for another $85. Great mod. Sounds just right, like a sports car should. Not too loud,no flat spots.

LPMM:

I have 1 5/8 inch stainless (is what the welder had in store).

For: sound at idle is deper and more gruff. Sound when rising form 2k to 3k is great. Up to 4k and lift off gives crackle and occasional pop.

Against: yes around 2400 to 2800 revs there is a bit of power missing, almost like a small lag. The only evidence I have is my senses as no dyno map taken at any stage. However I have never missed that power when it is needed

Hmmm - wonder if LPPM results in a subtle power band perfromance difference between Varioram and non-Varioram cars & ROW cars? Reading and researching indicates that it costs 500 dollars & up per single HP increase in these finely engineered autos.
