Default Lower dashboard removal?

Can anyone tell me what is holding the lower dash in place besides the bolts on the ends and the bolts behind the ashtray/trash receptacle. I can't seem to find a picture showing that in the PET. Thanks in advance for any help.

You have to remove the radio and the climate control. Behind each of these is a small 8mm nut that attaches to a stud from the backside of the knee pad to the metal chassis of the dash. The CC and radio are easy to remove with the proper tools. Most auto parts places carry them. The CC comes out with a U-shaped tool (mostly used for radios in other models) and a small blade type tool for the radio.

Good luck.....

Thanks VB.
Now that I've found them, I'm struggling to get at them, but at least I know where I'm at.

Posting this to save people from the hassle I had trying to remove the lower dash.

Unless my 993 is different, I found I had to do something not mentioned anywhere on these forums.....

In addition to the 2 bolts at each end of the lower dash, and the 2 bolts accessbile by removing the ashtray, there are 4 studs in total which need their nuts removing. There is 1 behing the radio, 1 behind the ccu, 1 behind the driver's airvent on the dash, and 1 behind the passenger airvent. The ones behind the airvents are not mentioned anywhere on this forum that I could see!.

Hope this helps someone ....
