It would also look better if you used the 'updated' Carrera script and not the 70s version. I can't recall the Rennlister's name that has this on his car in silver, but the updated script "fits" the 993 better, IMO.

That would be CAHRERA's Arena Red WB. Perhaps he will see this thread and post a pic of his car. The later style script font definitely looks better on a 993, IMO.

And I have to concur with the majority that Falcondrivr's stripes are mounted way too high, assuming that a factory-like look is the goal here.

They were 2" above the bottom of the front of the door. That is the original factory location on the older cars.
It's interesting, I posted this on a non-porsche/work related forum, and they were unanimously disliked there also. I liked the way they accent the rear fenders when viewed from certain angles, but was leaning toward removing them. My wife refused to ride in the car with them on. That was the only real advantage... Oh well, $40 and 30 minutes, a good experiment.

So what's the estimated cost of the lowering to ROW level?

it does make the car look a little "light in the loafers".

White is a color of purity and simplicity, it's better left untouched!

Also, white looks like it sits higher than any other color. So, Budget around $1,500 - $2,000 for shocks/springs and another $1,000 - $1,500 for installation, alignment and corner balance to lower the car. It's money well spent!

I'm all for different. Agreed they need to be lowered on the car and the car itself lowered. Painting the wheels blue is also a must. All that done, and I think it's a winner. Haven't seen the "new" Carrera stripes, but I like yours just fine.

I also have a gran prix white car. Painting the lower rockers (removeable black ones) white to match the car I think adds a significant lowering effect.

So does condescension.
It's an expression, get over it. BTW, when did homosexuality become a race?

Thanks to everyone for the opinions!

FALCONDRIVER,
I JUST FOUND THE PHOTOS OF A 993 WITH THE UPDATED CARRERA SCRIPT ON 993REGISTRY.ORG IN THE FIRST PAGE OF THE GALLERY SECTION.

THIS ONE IS THE CORRECT HEIGHT AND ACTUALLY LOOKS GREAT ON THE ARENA RED CAR.

If someone could photoshop that lower on another car, lower the car and paint the wheels, maybe I could decide. Seems like it would look okay then. I am one of those people who can't envision how it will look until I see it. That's why a select room paint colors based on pictures in magazines rather than those samples at the paint store.
