No, but posting a 996 for sale on the 993 forum is pretty silly. You know how us 993 guys are.

Let me say something....
this looks like a great car...low miles and well equipped. I am certain a buyer will pop up soon.
As you can see, there is a definite anti H20 bias on this site....we are generally old school. We love our "old" technology, our antiquated interiors that are just like a 78 SC, the lack of extra foot well room. We generally think that 2 valves per cylinder is about all you need. As for VarioCam....too sophisticated for us. We don't like slick interiors and digital read outs. We want our limited slip differentials. Having an on-board computer squeeze the brakes for us when the car is a little out of shape, an anathema!
We are also suckers for dry sump....we think our 993 cars run just as well up side down as right side up....they don't, but we think they do, or at least suspect it.
We want six individual cylinders and heads, not two banks of 3 each. The six cylinder/six head concept is what we were raised with, and for most of us, our development terminated in 1998
We also like to rebuild our motors and trannys....don't believe in dropping in replacement motors. We jist sit arond and pound the keys, sharing this N that, know that our cars are the last of a breed, the air/oil cooled Porsche cars.
As Rodney Dangerfield would say, Tough crowd, tough crowd!"
PS Some of us will get to the 996 concept a la the 996 GT3 car. We can live with H20 as the coolant knowing that the case upon which the two banks of cylinders sits, is the same one that is found on the 964, the 993, the 993 TT car...good company, indeed.

Did my first 911 engine in 1980 when I was 18; only seeing myself in a waterpumper just as you said--in GT3 (or maybe GT2) form.
