OT: Anybody got Hemiroids? (Caution: Venting)
What it is with these cretins that drive the Dodge Hemiroid/Ford Fart 350/Chevy Silverdildo pick-ups that make them think I somehow am interested in drag racing them with my 993?
It has gotten to the point that every time I take my car out, some skinheaded pro wrasslin' look alike wearing a wifebeater and a tatoo takes it upon himself to (1) do a full throttle take off from a traffic light or (2) jump out in front of me from a side road and race away like he's proven something.
I'll be the first to say that these vehicles certainly have their uses, but there's a certain segment of the population that in addition to putting a hundred bucks down, should be required to take an intelligence test before they can buy one of those vehicles.
There...I feel so much better...Thanks!

It is the young kids in the riced out hondas or subaru wrx's that always try to taunt me. In my experience, most of the rednecks in the oversized SUV's and Pickups with the 8" lifts just drool and give a thumbs up.

I had a buddy tell me when I moved to Utah I should buy a Ford F350. He said I would earn respect from people. Of course, I laughed at him. Like some person driving down the road is to flash some secret fraternity sign and all of a sudden we have a truck connection and respect each other.
People of all car types try to intimidate me. I dont pay attention to things in my rear view mirror!

Happens all the time... It's best to ignore these clowns... I got anoyed by one last year and left him in the dust, boy tried too side swipe me off the road but couldn't catch me and he almost lost it on the highway... Not worth the effort or possible consequences now a days... My .02 cents...

Yeah, every time I'm in the 993 there's always a driver or two that immediately acts like a maniac when they catch sight of my car. I give them a wide berth, although sometimes they serve as good fronts to smoke out the polizei.

Agree, just yesterday I had some punk in a Ninja Motorcycle tailing me real close and whized by me at 100+ after I gave him a taste of my RSR mufflers during take off at a light. He made a great front for me on the freeway later... Go figure...

Let's face it a VW Bug with a V8 could probably out accelerate a 993. But who the hell wants a Bug with a V8?
Every time some yahoo with a "hot" ride runs you down why is it they think you're going to say to yourself; "oh well I guess I have to sell my 993 now and git me one a 'dem"?
Pick up guys really amuse me. Here's a vehicle designed to haul manuer and it has a wing on the back and ground effects - not to mention the guy would never dream of using it as a real truck and actually haul something in it. *shrug*
I think ignoring these bozos is my best reaction. Don't even acknowledge them, like they don't even exist in your world. That totally defeats their whole game.

OK, This is a funny thread. I have a 993 and my company car (they pay for it...) is a Dodge Charger RT with a HEMI.
The funny part is people are constantly trying to race me in either vehicle. Even more so in the Charger. Most of the time I am just driving the charger from my house to the arport.
I do the same thing in both cars, I rev the engine at the stop light (if they want to race) then I slowly roll off the line hoping that something on their car breaks as they try to set a new 0-60 time in their (insert POS car here).
Once a Dodge neon RT did that and something snapped on his car, sounded like an axle or something...
