Thanks for the comments guys.
Foto: I like the wheels on your car too. I'm looking for a set of ultralights for track and Volks like these are the way to go. 18 and 20 lbs for 18s.
Another shot of the wheels filling out the fenders.

Dude, how can you possibly be envious when you have one of the hottest TTs on the list???

Jimmy: did you sell your wheels? How I wish they'd fit what I'm looking for...they're stunning.

These look very good on your car at its current height IMHO, 18's are of a better proportion to the 993 lines when the chassis is lowered to lie between RS and ROW 'sport' .... photoshop your other C4S on 'twists' lower to see what I mean .
BTW, thanks for the motivation on selling the WB twists .... they are now on a friends 928 S4 - after I used a Louisville Slugger ( 32 oz for the technically minded ) to roll the rear fenders: talk about a bad a$$ looking 928!

Everyone has their opinion, so here's mine. I think the "right" 19" wheel looks perfect on the 993's but there are others that would make them look out of place on the car. I have the 19" RUF wheels on mine and I had 18" five spoke HRE's on my 1996 Carrera 2 cab. I think the 19's look better than the $6,000 worth of HRE's I had on my prior car simply because it's a great looking wheel and I think 19's fill out the wheel wells better if the car is lowered.
Having said that, I think those 997 rims are simply beautiful on your car. I think they complement the lines of the 993 very well, and if I didn't already have the RUF's I would have considered getting those wheels for my TT. (Although I just waxed the RUF's and it took me 10 minutes. Gotta love that simple design when it comes to maintenance). :-)

Garth: Thanks. It took me a couple of weeks of staring at the first picture below for me to make the decision to start looking for these wheels. I appreciate what you're saying re 18s vs 19s. My cab was at between RoW and RS height with twists and it looked perfect to me. However, WB cars look very aggressive and well proportioned with 19s, provided they have the right wheels. I'm glad things worked out for you with the sale of your wheels. Twists look great on 928s. What do you have on your car now?
Robert: Thanks for the comments. I washed the car yesterday with the new wheels for the first time and, man they're a pain to clean! It took me three times as long to clean them than my old twists. Definitely high maintenance. I love RUFs and I think your car is stunning as it is. I wouldn't change a thing.
I think every car has its own personality and the wheels can either buid on or take away from it. The right wheels can make a car have that "je ne sais quoi" while the wrong wheels can make a nice car look off. There are examples of both here on RL, though, gotta say that most members have great taste.
I got new wheels because I had twists in my cab and I wanted something different on this car. I looked at 19s because I've seen many WB cars with 19" RUFs and TechArts that look simply stunning. At one point I was going to buy RUFs but most new luxury/sport cars now are coming out with multi-spoke wheels and I really dig the fan look. The fact that Porsche makes such a wheel not only keeps my car OE but it also gives my car a bit of an updated look. I also took into account that my car is met black and is on the more "elegant" scale of the 993 color palette. If my car was SY or Maritime Blue, I might've gone with something like Speedlines. So having said all this, should I get the wheels refinished in hyper black (chrome/pearlescent black kinda finish), like the second image?
