Chris - I actually just took the stock "H" license bracket and zip tied it to the middle horizontal part of the nose. It fits just below the main part of the bumper cover, and hangs at an angle. I figure (rightly or wrongly) that having the plate at the angle will deflect any radar/laser detection, plus it puts the whole plate where it doesn't show as much as if it were where the stock location is. I have a gray plastic cover to keep my vanity plate clean also.

Since there is no radiator on these cars, it doesn't restrict flow!

What????????

How does the coolant get cooled?

Next you'll be telling me air alone keeps it cooled...

I highly recommend larry at www.moweraxle.com

His kit mounts the front plate in the tow hook hole, can be taken out anytime. No drilling required and it is made of quality stainless steel. I just put mine on and was very impressed. (no affiliation)

Now you have done it...by mentioning it you have increased your chances of being caught exponentially.....

I like Guy's solution of just hanging the plate using some protective clear hosing and two plastic tie clamps. Works like a charm.

Cheers,

Mike

I'd probalby pay the fine and consider it a tax for keep the clean look of the front end.

If you have some time, beer and hand tools you can make a bracket: http://homepage.mac.com/ejd . The Inventiva package is nice, though, and is pretty much a no-brainer.

No worries on blocking airflow. The middle of the intake is actually a splitter that routs air to the radiators aside the nose. Yeah, they're radiators. And while I'll be kicked out of the Church of St. Ferdinand, I'll say the heresy: the oil does double duty as coolant. I think the only completely air-cooled engines that the good Doktor designed were the early 4 cylinders, before they added the oil cooler in the shroud.

Hey thanks guys these are all great options, I am leaning toward the Inventiva plate mount, but I do like the idea of creation my own after a couple glasses of wine (Porsches are too Sophisticated for beer right? could be wrong LOL). What I think is going to happen though is wait wuntil I get stopped for it and then take care of it because I like the cleaner look of not having a plate there at all.

Hey Chris... I may actually have the plate mount hiding in the garage somewhere. I'll take a look and send it to you if I can find it.

A bit "ghetto" but you could just zip-tie the plate to the grill

While on the topic, I'm thinking of changing from "normal" plates to the Euro style ones. Here is a pic of both - mine is the yellow car and the Turbo has the Euro style. Which do you think looks better....I'm picking the Euro style will be more popular due to the cleaner look.

Heretic! Spawn of Satan!

Tie him to the 4 foot oil dip-stick and burn him at that stake.

I did something similar, but with two galv steel angle brackets I picked up at my local hardware store. I didn't take any photos of the process, but it's pretty straightforward. The angles attach to the stock H bracket, so the plate ends up higher than the Inventia brakcet, which sits a bit too low and would scrape on driveways before the FPB would.
