Default License plate frame mount

Okay Guys and Gals,
Since I live in Washington State the law requires a front plate. I am trying to find out where I can obtain a mount for the license plate frame mount. Does any one have any idea where I can buy One??? see attached picture for nose style. (1996 993 coupe).

As a matter of fact I just bought the two "blocks" that go between the H frame and the front bumper today at a dealer.

Do you have the frame (looks) like an horizontally elongated "H"?

The two blocks and two mounting screws cost a grand total of $4.75. Cheapest bill I ever got from them

I have nothing since this was a Cali Car guess front plates are not required. I will require a complete mounting kit , I was just looking on Pelican Parts and found all the parts too bad they do not have a kit ....... guess I might try a dealer here in wa to see if they have a kit .

California DOES require a front plate. Fully 10% of the cars and close to 90% of the P-cars do not use a front plate. Most of the time no one cares.

I saw a front plate mount that hangs the plate in front of the grill opening, and doesn't require any new holes. I saw it on Rennlist on the 993 forum. Try a couple of different searches.

Hey Chris, however you fix this, post the solution. I got my 993 a couple months ago with only the black H bracket. I attacehed it with some screws and washers from Home Depot, but noticed that Pelican had spacers. I'm looking for a better way to attach it.

Hey Chris,

Haven't had any issues not running with the front plate in Wa (yet).

But here's a great option I came accross on RL a while back when I was considering a front plate.

Tow hook mount license plate kit:

Chris - As an alternative you may want to look at the Inventa license plate kit (same guy that makes the CNC cupholder)...the kit relocates the plate below the bumper in front of the grill opening rather than on the bumper itself...I much cleaner look IMHO. If you search you will find some pics...I think "Cabrio993" has it on his cab.

Chris,

If you want it lower and not "on" but rather "under" the front bumper try this..

http://www.inventivaconcepts.com/fplk.html

I'm a happy customer, and it keeps me legal here in Kalifornya. See pic <----

Edit: David beat me to it by a few seconds....

I live in Washington and have never run a front plate. In the nearly 2 years I've owned the card, I've never been hassled.

Even if I get a fine, its not a moving violation therefore not going to affect my insurance.

I'd probalby pay the fine and consider it a tax for keep the clean look of the front end.

When I had a front plate I used one from:

http://inventivaconcepts.com/fplk.html

Here's an old photo of my 993 with it on.

It look so much cleaner without it.

Doesn't that lower mount in front of the grille opening restrict airflow to the radiator?
