I don't believe total # built but it's the total # of C2S brought into and sold in the US. see Chart.

And dont forget C4 Coupe and C4 Cabs (non S) are the least made of the non-turbos. Therefore, I would consider them "rarer"
There was only 539 95 C4's. Like I really care but 539 of something made sounds better than a few thousand. Its not like I drive around and run into many 95 C4's. Actually, I dont run into that many 993's in Utah. Mini vans, Jeeps, and jacked up Trucks out number me by about 20,000 to 1.

'98 C2S' and C4S' are more pricey but will hold their value better since they're the last of the air-cooled breed, with the '98 C2S' getting the nod for highest sale prices, despite not being as initially as expensive as their C4S counterparts and not having big red brakes and 4 channel ABS.
Lots of threads on the archives wrt this discussion.

Porsche attempted to improve the series every year, with detail updates that didn't necessarily get mentioned as model year changes-- a different bracket here, an improved part design there. IMO opinion 1998, in addition to the final year, could easily be argued as the best year of the 993. It's the vintage I sought and bought.

I don't think you go wrong with any year of the 993. I bought a 95 C4 because it was the one I saw and wanted. If you are going to use the car and not worry about the rarity of it then by the best one you can find that turns you on. I drive a lot in all weather and the C4 is a blast. Most sure footed car at speed in the rain I've ever driven. Good luck.

A model year "94" would have been a 964... Although, in RoW (Rest of world, e.g. Europe) I believe 993s started with a MY94...? Anyone else, chime in? I don't have access to Adrian Streather's 993 book right now...
