To me it's all about the car, not the year of manufacture. Condition and options always determine the cars that I buy. I was looking for a '98 C2S when a mint, well-optioned NB car came along. The decision to buy was a no-brainer!

Here is another nice link with 993 production numbers from Wikipedia:

http://www.cartype.com/pages/2654/po..._s_coupe__1997

I wonder about Excellence production numbers, they all don't seem to mesh (synchro pun)

If I wanted to buy another 993 it would be the 95 C2 Coupe.

The worst year is the one that never gets driven and collects dust.

Early '95 sans immobilizer is the only way to go.

If I were building a track car, I'd start with a 95 and if I were buying a weekend toy I'd buy a C2S. There was a time when I thought the C4S was the ultimate NA 993, in fact, it's still debatable.

LOL...we all know that white 993's have the strongest engines. So that settles that!

Agreed. If you want a car in a good color in less than a year, you can't focus on one model year.

That said, '95 was and remains my preference. Then a '96 with a new top end came along and well...here I am.

Tray off, SY is fastest. Don't forget: yes Brad Penn is OK in a 15/40 custom mix if you like, but Mobil 1 may be OK again; yes Sumitomos are good for the money. <<< Rennlist 993 board summarized in two sentences and/or can o' worms alert!

It's great how these old threads get ressurrected. My car's build date on the label is November 1997 with last digits three digits 333, with a cool total of 993 cars imported into the U.S. I don't think the serial numbers relate to the car's sequence off the line.

there must be a lot of 993s going back to Europe. I alone know of 3 in the last year... :-(
the week dollar and strong euro is not helping our numbers.

Harlan,
Could it be that it's #333 for 1998? I think that the manufacturing Fiscal year begins in Sept or Nov, then +12 month??

Alfonso.
