Default '96 C4S for $38k??

Car is advertised locally and it sounds nice. FS by private owner, 79k miles, manual, blue over tan, described as excellent, 2nd owner. Ad says "asking $38k" so I'm thinking it could be had for less. Is this a great deal if it is indeed excellent?

That's a great price for a WB 993. As long as ppi checks out and the car has no history of SAI that has yet to be resolved, I say go for it. I wouldn't be afraid of the miles.

I went from a 97 C4S with 17k miles to a 97 C4S with 64k miles (now 72k miles) with a 95 cab in between. The C4S I have now is as tight and almost as cosmetically identical as the 17k miles car. I definitely would not let 79k miles scare you as long as everything checks out.

Good Luck

Rob

There is an Arena Red '96 C4S with aerokit at Exclusive Motors with 79k miles and an asking price of $43k. Not sure if there are any stories on it, but looks pretty good (I just need a little more convincing to the CFO at home).

Yeah, those CFOs types are tough. I actually put a PowerPoint brief together for my "CFO" years ago when wanting to buy a 87 911 cab. The contents were complete BS about a lessening depreciation curve, build quality, etc., but I did get an A for effort.

Good Luck

That's a good deal, and like pegasis says, don't let the miles scare you as long as the PPI checks out. These cars like to be driven!

Sounds exactly like my car except I have 73k. I would buy mine again for $38k.

Some of the cars at this dealership look ridden hard and put away wet. Look at all the road rash on the lower front of the bumper cover. It has seen some serious parking curbs or steep driveways.

The Arena Red at Exclusive was bought from a private party at around $34-35k. I have made offers on a couple of half way decent deals and had Exclusive or Victory beat me on the price.

I may check it out this weekend if my CFO lets me get away for a couple of hours
