Amazon Green is code 39A and Ironically I saw a 993 cab just the other day in it. Amazon looks more blue than green most of the time but can change to about 7 different shades.

Here's a 94 3.6 Turbo in Amazon Green where you can see more of the green component in the paint. This pic was taken under a tent at a local Porsche event here a few years ago.

And David in LA mentioned Rainforest Green. Here's my Boxster S in Rainforest Green. It's similar to but a bit brighter than Forest Green.

Ditto. I can't believe I never see this color on 993s. I know it was an option on some of the earlier cars at least, but I have never seen it on an "S" variant. It would be stunning in that color.

Thanks David.

The plate says "SMIRFET" ... it's my wife's car ... and she's blonde.

The black cab and the GT3 are my toys.

Scott - Great color, and I really like the fact that you picked up the color in the mats. As an aside, what 996 color is that 3-spoke steering wheel? I'd like to get a 3-spoke along with an alum shifter/ebrake, but with a Classic Grey interior, there are already about 4 different tones of grey going on...

Thanks Russ.

It's a bit hard to tell due to the lighting in the pic ... but the 3-spoke 996 wheel is black ... it replaced a stock classic grey 993 4-spoke ... and looks WAY better with black than grey IMHO.

I recently bought her and received from Carnewal a 996 alu/leather shifter and alu/leather e-brake ... just like the ones in my black cab ... and I think the black there will also be an improvement in looks over the stock grey 993 shifter and grey e-brake.

Scott - I will definitely want to see pics once you put the black parts all together. I had thought of doing that when I had a set of black sport seats. Those seats however went away during a job change, along with a full CF interior - so I'm reconsidering my focus - now sticking with grey and going to aluminum accent. Whoops, this is so OT for an exterior color thread.

The first 993 I ever considered buying was a really light metallic purple until I saw it in real life - not that there was anything wrong with it... Anyone know what color that would have been? I'm thinking custom paint-to-sample.

I think the black interior bits on the Rivi Blu cab will end with the shifter and e-brake ... she likes the remaining grey bits ... including the 2-tone dash and the grey seats ... they stay cooler in the hot, hot heat of the San Fernando Valley.

BTW ... methinks the light metallic purple you mention is Vesuvius Metallic ... a rare ... special order 993 color ... I personally LOVE IT ... another fellow RL'er has one ... just drove with him again last Saturday on a Santa Barbara charity drive.

anyone remember the old commercial (maybe 993 era) of the porsche test drivers and mechanics eating jelly beans and picking the same colors for their cars? they showed a mechanic with crazy colored socks, etc. pretty funny at the time. nothing like german humor.

That's a great ad! I just don't have the guts to drive a wild color. There is a lime-green Gallardo that is parked every evening in the MetroWest area (Orlando, FL) Publix parking lot. I love the car, and the color is growing on me, I just couldn't personally do it.

Scott - If Viggo's car (the special edition with the silver mirrors, etc) is Vesuvio, the car I looked at was at least half as dark. Maybe Viggo can chime in as to what that color looks like in bright sunlight, but IIRC, the car I looked at was really light purple in the sun.
