Rear Bumper Heat Shield
I bought some rear bumper exhaust heat shields from flea-bay, and Gert's web site states they can be modified to fit narrow bodied cars. I've sent a couple of emails to Gert, but I've received no response.
Does anyone here know how to modify them? There are two screw holes and near one end is a lug. Do I chop this bit off or the other side? Has anyone else tried this modification? Here's a picture of the shields from the Carnewal site:

Darren,
I'm in the same situation. It's reasonable to drill a hole in the bumper for the 'peg' to fit into, then drill 2 more holes to attach the rest of the shields. FYI, you can use #6 or #8 machine screws with countersunk heads instead of rivets.
If you've test fit them, you'll know that they need to be carefully bent/reshaped to fit the contour of the muffler tip cut-out. I would use some cloth or rubber sleeves over channel locks. Lastly, if you line up the thick (peg) end flush with the edge of the bumper, you'll find that you may need to grind a bit of the thin end because it will trail below the bumper edge.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Matt! Looks like another job to add to the DIY list! I'll post some pictures when it's done to see if any of you NB guys like the look of it.

I have RSR's and wide ovals. On my old bumper, the heat was too much for the bumper and you could see where the bumper was almost melted on the edge surrounding the tips.
Now that I have a brand new bumper (courtesy of the SUV driver that hit me while while taking off from a light), I want to protect it from the heat.
They are made for the wide body bumper, but I think they can be fitted to Narrow bodies.
