I just purchased a '97 993 Cab and am looking forward to many drives down to the Florida Keys to enjoy my hobby of scuba diving. I am looking for a rubber or plastic "boot liner" or mat so that my damp dive gear will not wet the carpet in the boot. There are many versions made for SUVs and other cars, but having trouble finding one for the 993 boot. Any suggestions.
I was going to suggest removing spare tire, and placing your gear UNDER the boot carpet (there's a drain hole under there), but since you'll be diving in salt water, I thought twice about it...
Here, I have this in my Lexus: WeatherTech This says "universal fit", you may have to cut it down to size... Let us know if you pick one up

Definitely more than just the carpet he should worry about then

Welcome!
The weather tech product looks like a good bet. Trimming will probably be
required. Remove the carpet from your trunk and lay flat to use as a template.
Trace around it with chalk or wax pencil then you can avoid accidentally damaging the carpet.
Carefully consider what you want to cover and how
you would like it to fit before you begin to trim. Good luck!
IMO, since salt water is in the equation, I might try one of those blue tarps you can buy at Home Cheapo. You can cut it to fit and leave enough to curl up along the sides to catch the salt water, plus they're inexpensive.
I have dived the Keys many times and I been thinking of driving down with my 993. Haven't been there in many years, and am overdue for a beach vacation. Enjoy your trip and the new car!
Thanks for all of the advice and the warm welcomes. It feels great to be back in the club after a few year hiatus. I ended up buying an identical car to the one I owned a few years back. '97 993 Cab in Arctic Silver/Black/Black w/ only 25k miles! It is in amazing condition and runs and sounds like a dream. Tiny bit of condensation at the bottom of headlights, though. Will have to investigate here on how to rectify. Also my windstop must need some type of mounting kit. Did all cars come ready to accept this as is or do I need to modify something to install.
Thanks again and looking forward to interacting with all of you. I promise to post pics as soon as I figure out how.
