My 03 TT has 63K on it and runs great. Be sure to check for the second gear pop out problem on some cars. Also have a check done for type 2 over runs. Type 1 are from bumping redline but 2 are shifting to wrong gear. There is a good Sticky Poll on 6speed in the GT2/996TT forum. The car is a blast to drive
That seems like a decent price.

$51999 was the bid price I placed, but someone else won it at $52000. The seller only sold cheap cars in the past, mustangs, 80s BMWs, this is the first high end car he is selling. I guess something happened with the 1st winner, is the seller's e-mail he said I am getting a 2nd chance offer as I am the 2nd highest bidder. He said that the 1st buyer couldn't get financing. So if I want the car I can buy it for $51999, I have until Tuesday next week.
Still working out the logic in my head, to make the deal I will have need to sell my 99 996C4 which have been a great car for me, going on 60k. Good everyday driver, great gas mileage, low up keep. To buy the turbo that means much higher insurance rate, higher up keep cost, and much lower gas mileage???
Or maybe I will just wait few more years until the price of the 997 come down a little more....

type 2 over run.... can PPI discover that? Probably require the factory PS2 tool to read that?
Any known issues with the turbos?

Watch out for bad guys trying to scam you. I have had bogus second chance offers. I think ebay has recently made this more difficult though...
Contact the original seller via the link in the original ad to make sure it is really the right guy.

Type 2 needs to be read by the PS2. 6speedonline has some good info on these issues. The turbos and motor have very few if any problems. Diverter valves need changing occasionally.
My insurance runs $600 a year full coverage on the TT a 2nd car one driver. I get 14-17 around town and 22-25 on the highway. Of course you can also get 5-6 mpg depending on how heavy your foot is. Mine has the X-50 package with the K24 turbos (450HP). Stock are K16 (415HP). There are lots of ways to get this motor up to silly HP reasonably with chip and exhaust. It is a great town or highway car with very minimal maintenance.

Go for it Robin! If the car checks out, you have a really fun car that you can really drive all the time if you want to. A month from now, I would be jumping on that car myself...

I would highly recommend a PST2 hook-up if deal to be finalized.
check for the correct mileage, and number of hours of engine run.

It sounds like he was jacking up the price himself. Get the bid history, and find out what the first bid was the alleged dropout made. Offer him the price just before that.
