Jack Stand Recommendation

The flat-topped stands from AC ( http://www.alltiresupply.com/p-3000NFP.html )
I switched to these and an Ac jack after my car slipped off my Sears jack and crunched a corner panel. It's cheaper to buy a good jack and stands than repair the car.

AC Jack Stand...as a lister said some time back "your safety demands it". They are not cheap but they are well worth the money. AC Jack is exceptional as well, I even lug mine to the track.
Once had over 100 (jackstands) of them in possesion......

Gary,
Another enthusiastic vote for the AC stands. I have used these countless times already and would have no problem sleeping under my heavy 993 for a night - they are genuinly stout. I purchased four stands with the flat rubber tops, and two separate cradle-shaped inserts so that I can securely support my truck by its rear axle housing. I purchased mine from The Ultimate Garage and picked the stands up from the company's East Coast warehouse.

I too have the AC stands and they are the best I've seen. You'll feel much better under the car, knowing you have the wide pad supporting the car instead of the two tips of a Y shaped prong that's meant to cradle an axle. The also have wide round pads on the feet, which are great for supporting the car on grassy ground at the track, and not sinking in it. Well worth the money.

Question. If one buys four, which only seems right considering their construction why would you not just go ahead and buy a hydraulic sissors hoist for a few more bucks----assuming of course that portability is not an issue?
