Default Detail Shops in SoCal?

Ok, I'm thinking it's time to have my baby done by a professional, and then I will maintain....my car is black and I don't know if that makes a difference (i.e., some guys are better with dark colors as opposed to light)....can someone in the SoCal area make a recommendation where to take my car for a full detail? TIA.

Chuck--

Los Angeles/Orange County....I purposely left it broad because I don't mind driving extended distances if I know the car is going to a quality shop. Thanks!

I used to take my '86 911 to Steve's detailing in Newport Beach. Haven't needed/used them in the last 5 years, but I expect they'd still be good. Used them after remembering an article about them in Road & Track back in the late 1980s...I thought the R&T guys might know a thing or two about cars....

I second the recommendation for Steve's. I just had mine done a couple months ago and they did a pretty good job.

I fourth the Steve's Recc. I used the guys on Santa Monica Blvd or Wilshire (forget which street) in the Century City area about 6 years ago when I lived there. They did an incredible job on my 928 so I guess they are good just about everywhere they have locations.

Nobody touches my 993 except me though!

If you want to go all out, allow me to throw in a recommendation for Moe from Glistening Perfection. He's done two full details on my 993 - Does an amazing job, very professional (and a really nice guy too...)

Cheers,

I have a black 97 993 and take it to Freddie at International Auto Detail in Westwood (Westwood Blvd. at Pico, across from the Westside Pavilion). Was originally recommended to me by Beverly Hills Porsche Audi. When they are done the car looks brand new. When Mark at Red Line (post Pete Zimmerman) saw it after the first time I had it done at IAD, he specifically asked where I'd had the detail done because he was blown away by it. Said he'd seen a lot of Porsches post-detail but never asked that question before.
