Default 1998 Cab,Tip, 16,000 miles. Value???

Hello,
I am located in the southeast US and need to make an offer on a 1998, 993 cab. with Tip, White/black, very clean, 16,000 miles. No dings, chips or history. Same owner since 98. Any ideas on market value? I am new to the 993 market.
Thanks in advance.

$32K? $34K tops due to the "last year" premium. There was a white 40K mi. 6-speed that sat at Berhoff Mercedes in San Jose for weeks at like $33(?)K. Another Zenith blue 6-speed with 16K in West Holywood which went in the mid-high $30s, but more buyers for 6-speeds = higher prices.

Seller is unrealistic. Don't waste any more time on this one. Folks here will be happy to help with a search- What are you looking for (Tip, color combo, mileage, etc) and where are you located?

$32K is way too low for a mint 1998 993. Take a look at the 98's listed in the Rennlist classifieds and you will find proof.

Being a low mileage, one owner and last year 993 will bring more, but the tip will reduce some value. I'd say lower 40's would be the right range.

I was thinking $40k is a fair price. The Tip is less of a penalty in the Cabriolet. The Tip Cabriolet has its own niche.

30K for a mint low mile 1998 cabrio? Guys get real... At 30K dealers would be falling over each other of who would snap it first.
The reality of the situation is that our 993's are no Honda's. Blue book and the rest goes out the window here. Lower mile cars will always command a very high premium. In this case a last year production model with less than 20K on will fetch in the open market way North of 40K. North of 50's for sure in the hands of a dealer.
Try this link for an indication of what ultra mint low mile 993's will bring :

Agree... Then add in the fact that they put the strongest engines in white 993's and you have a great deal. Tiptronics are not for everyone, but they don't destroy the value of a 993... just lower it slightly.

value is determined by a reasonably informed buyer that is looking at all opportunities, theoretically. Deals are had when one side of the transaction has an advantage. RPM maybe is getting the high side and people searching for sellers using kelly bb to set asking price are getting the low side. If you are not shopping, and haven't been involved in any transactions, where is the value in expressing your opinion. Alot can go wrong with a medium to high milage car, so how can you argue with a low milage example.

Low mileage examples have their own inherent pitfalls, dried seals and such.

I've been driving air cooled engine cars since 1966 and my low milage 98 is the first one that does not leak oil. Of course I am not buying into this 0-40 synthetic crap and am running 20-50 dino oil so my seals will stay wet even as the garage queen sits. I plan to drive this car alot more for the pleasure and to prove that this engine in non-race environment can last 200k+.

On options, general condition, i.e. paint ,tyres , top, et.al.; $38,000 to $42,000 for a private sale.....as a comp, I am to look at a '98 993 Cab. this week with 25,000 miles, Manual, good options, one local owner with service records and it is silver/blk/blk......Said $48,000 but the seller knows $45,000 would be more than fair ( it is a friend of a friend scenario ).......I'm not a big fan of 993 Cabs., unless it is a heart stopping deal!
