Wow, painted definitely outranks unpainted....OK I need to talk to Boris at the body shop... ;-)

Damn slipperly slope.

Cheers,

I like both. Tie goes to the existing set-up (for now).

I lie a little. I was going to paint the split grill when they did my fender and bumper, but they said they could not get the grill off to paint. I haven't really looked at it- is there a trick to this?

The trick appears to be do not try to remove the grill as all you ever hear are tales of woe. I got a SH grill off of Ebay for £25 that even came with the mechanism and the spoiler wall! If I was doing it again I would just bite the bullet and get my original grill painted.

Cheers,

David

Lots of discussion in the archives on this.
IIRC, it's glued in with some nasty stuff that makes it a PITA to get apart.
But several here have done it. Some with some

You could just take the whole spoiler out (4 screws IIRC) and take it to the body shop. They can paint the grill mounted on the spoiler. The paint will match perfectly this way as well.

Ted,

Curious....
Basket handle brake light and an "S" at the same time? What gives?

I am not sure if you are dissenting since you painted the grill regardless if its split or not... ;-)

I like the split grills but if both a normal grill and a split grill are painted I don't think there is that much difference between the two...IMHO

Cheers,

Mike

My split grill is polar silver on my midnight blue car. Makes a great contrast, but it doesn't show up well in photos. I have a spare stock grill if it's worth a few bucks to anyone.
