993: Is the "S" worth it?
#46
When I was shopping a year and a half ago, I was oblivious to the distinction between NB and S...I just wanted the newest 993 I could find with the right color combination, yet with enough mileage on it so I could still sorta afford it. The fact that the '98's coupes were S's by default was a serendipitous discovery made after the fact - thanks to my education here at RL!
If I had found my color combo in a NB, would I have yearned for an S? I dunno, maybe, but certainly not for performance reasons. Perhaps the esthetics were subliminally influencing me to hold out for an S - I did shop over a year, after all, before pulling the trigger.
Buy what strikes you, I'd say, be it NB or S

All Coupes in 98 were WideBodies. The 98 C2S's were the same price as if they were a Narrow Body. They were ending production of the Air Cooled and had a bunch of Turbo Bodies they needed to use up.This was the first time you could buy a base priced S for the same as if it were a narrow body.I believe base price was 63,500
